Jimi Michel, MPH

Jimi Michel is a public health technologist, strategist, and educator specializing in the design and implementation of technology for healthcare and social impact. He currently serves as the Chief Information Officer of Island Health Care, a federally qualified health center, where he leads technology strategy, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Previously, he was the Digital Health Lead for USAID’s MOMENTUM immunization initiative, guiding digital strategy for the world’s largest immunization portfolio, supporting electronic registry planning in Bosnia, and helping build an AI-powered chatbot to deliver trusted vaccination information to parents in India.

Jimi’s background spans consulting, academic medicine, and startup innovation, with experience in cybersecurity, product leadership, and applied AI. He also teaches digital health at the Boston University School of Public Health.

A graduate of Boston University and the New England Conservatory, Jimi pairs technical expertise with a deep commitment to equity, mentorship, and practical, human-centered solutions in healthcare technology.
